Old School RuneScape Name Generator Twelve characters, and the space between two words is one of them

Twelve characters. That is the whole game, and the space between your two words costs you one of them. Every other generator on this search result will hand you something gorgeous and seventeen letters long, with a copy button sitting hopefully beside it.

So this one is built the other way round: it counts first and generates second. Pick your corner of Gielinor, pick what your account actually is, and every name that comes back fits the field you are about to type it into.

Nobody else on that search result even mentions the twelve

I went through the whole first page for this. Spinners, AI wrappers, a name-diagnosis toy, two generic idea feeds — and not ONE of them states the character limit, let alone builds to it. They generate, you count, and half of what they hand you will not go in.

There is a name checker out there that counts beautifully and does not generate at all. Between the two of them somebody was supposed to do both jobs, and in the end it was the bloody dice. I would like that noted.

The twelve is Weird Gloop's number, not Jagex's, and I am saying so out loud

Here is the awkward part. Jagex's own help pages state the 28-day cooldown, the Bond that skips it, the 35-day hold on a name you have given up, and the flat admission that a name taken by a bot is gone for good. They do not state the length anywhere I could reach.

The twelve is documented on the officially licensed wiki, which Weird Gloop run under contract to Jagex, and it is enforced by the in-game name changer itself. So the counter on this page fires at twelve and the hint under the controls tells you exactly whose number it is.

Every other site quotes that figure as scripture and cites nothing at all. I am quoting it and naming the source, which is less impressive and considerably more honest.

An ironman, a pure and a skiller are three different acts of naming

Eight account builds, ten corners of Gielinor, twenty-four skills and nine ways to spend an evening. Ironman, Hardcore, Ultimate and Group are Jagex's own account modes; pure, skiller and alt are community conventions with no setting behind them, and the page says which is which.

The corner of Gielinor is the heaviest dial on here, deliberately. A Fremennik name and a Kharidian one should not arrive as two moods of the same name, and they do not. Not that I play. I have people who play.

Leave every control alone and it still works perfectly well. Set all four and it starts showing off, which is frankly the entire reason it was built.

The title never goes in the box, and that is the point of it

381 titles, every one of them tone-tagged, running from the Twelve-Letter Legend at the dignified end all the way down to Who Buried Their Own Cape. Drag the die towards whatever you are prepared to be seen under and the whole register moves, titles included.

None of them is constrained by twelve characters, because none of them goes anywhere near the field. Clan chat, a forum signature, a video handle. The name is the claimable half and the title is the half you wear.

There are 32 curated pairs in here as well — Sigrun Saga, Clag Crud and thirty more — every one hand-capped to fit, for the mornings when pressing a button four hundred times is beyond you.

Twenty years of Gielinor being grubby, behind one switch

The Full Send corner is off by default, switches itself off again when you leave, and hands you the Draynor sewer, the well at Barbarian Village, the compost bin and the midden behind every village. Sixty-one entries that exist nowhere else on this site.

One warning and it is not a joke: the display name field is MODERATED. Jagex remove an offensive name, replace it with a random string of numbers, and a repeat offender loses the ability to rename at all for a year.

The word-level filth lives in the titles, and titles never touch a game field. Read the name before you paste it, because that part genuinely does go in the box.

Playing Dragonwilds instead? Sixteen characters, no spaces, and no rename at all, over on the RuneScape: Dragonwilds generator. Ashenfall is a different continent with different manners, and it wanted a vocabulary of its own.
