The generators run in your browser. Anything you type into a generator stays on your device and is never sent to us. We have no accounts and no signup, and we never ask who you are.
We do record which names the generator produced and which ones you kept, so we can tell whether the generators are any good. That data is anonymous and cannot be linked to you or to a previous visit. There is more detail below.
The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse; see Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not use any third-party analytics service; the only data we record ourselves is described under "Names and ratings" below.
Some pages load display typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Requesting a font file discloses your IP address and basic technical data to Google, in the same way as any request to a third-party server; Google states that it does not use these requests to build advertising profiles. Nothing you select or type into a generator is included in those requests. See Google's privacy policy. On the generator pages, fonts are requested only when you select the tone that uses one — so if you never move the tone control, no font request is made.
When you roll, we record the names that were generated, the options that produced them, and which names you kept or removed. We record this for every roll, not only the ones you keep — a count of kept names means nothing without knowing how many were shown.
After ten rolls you may be asked to rate the generator, with an optional comment box. It can be submitted empty, it appears at most once per visit, and you can dismiss it. Anything you write there is read by us to improve the generators and is never published on the site.
This data carries no name, no email address and no account, because there are none. Each visit is given a random identifier that exists only for that page load and is never stored on your device, so two visits cannot be connected to each other or to you. We do not store your IP address with any of it.
The data is held in a Cloudflare D1 database in Western Europe, on the same account that serves the site.
There is no advertising on this site today: no ad scripts, no ad network, no advertising cookies. It is possible that advertising (Google AdSense) will be added in future to cover hosting costs. If that happens, this policy will be updated first with details of the cookies and consent choices involved, and a consent banner will be shown where required.
Our suggestions page embeds a public discussion board (giscus, backed by GitHub Discussions). Anything you post there is public, requires a GitHub account, and is stored by GitHub — not by us — under GitHub's privacy statement. Loading that page requests the giscus widget from giscus.app. The generators themselves remain entirely local to your browser.
If you email us (requests or corrections), we'll have your email address and whatever you wrote — used only to reply, kept only as ordinary correspondence, never sold or shared.
